what do you remember about learning how to read?

In all honesty, I’m not the best at remembering how to read. I’ve always had a hard time reading when I was younger, and I also don’t remember much of my elementary classes. After all, I missed a lot of school because I was constantly sick, which put me behind in my reading. My mom would also read to me or have me try to learn how to read, but it was a little bit more difficult, especially if the words were tiny. I had a hard time, and I remember the process of reading and having to repeat certain words over and over to make sure I was understanding it right. overall I do remember in fifth grade we would do popcorn rating and we would read at least 10 minutes a day during class to get our minds starting the process everything and that’s when I kind of started remembering that I kind of like to read, and that reading is good for you and throughout the rest of my elementary years, we would randomly do popcorn reading so sometimes I would get caught out randomly to read, and I would have to kind of focus or remember where we’re reading because it is kind of hard to like listen and read at the same time or like remember where we’re going when I’m too focused reading, but I didn’t enjoy reading growing up as of now, I do read a lot more than when I was younger. I actually spend a lot of my time at Barnes & Noble reading.
